Wedding Arches Glasgow

Wedding Arches Glasgow

The Arches Glasgow is open it’s doors up after it was abruptly shut in 2015.  Following on from the success of the street food market which is held in at the argyle street side every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  They plan to use the midland street side, more commonly known as the wee arch as a wedding venue.  I guess may get to play this world famous venue once again.

You always could get married in the arches but getting a weekend date might not have been too easy. Now “Wee Arch” is going to be a dedicated wedding venue.  They are hosting an open day  which runs runs from 12pm to 4.30pm on the 20th of May.  Entry is free, but registration on Eventbrite is essential to secure your spot.

Ingliston Country Club Bishopton

This Saturday  just past I had the pleasure of DJing in the beautiful Connemara Suite at Ingliston Country Club in Bishopton.  In the lead up to the wedding this lovely young couple had more than their fair share of mishaps and bad luck, from lost wedding rings to seriously ill family members.  They didn’t let any of this get in their way of enjoying their special day.

Highlights for me was the groom Andrew serenading his new bride to “Human League – Don’t you want me”.  This was a  throw back to when they first met and Andrew changed the words from “You were work as a waitress in a cocktail bar” to “You were working as a waitress in the brewers fayre”.  It was brilliant to see and hear all their guest join in the chorus

“DON’T YOU WANT ME, BABY?

DON’T YOU WANT ME, OH?”

They also had a selfie roamer from http://selfiemirrorhirescotland.co.uk, which is basically a portable selfie mirror which I quickly borrowed to get a dance floor selfie.  You can just see my head peaking into shot.

Jordan and Fiona’s Wedding – Queens Hotel Dundee

This past Saturday I was at the lovely Queens Hotel in Dundee.  Not only was this my first time in this venue but it was the first time I got to experience the orcadian tradition know as the wedding cog.  I’m not sure why this orcadian tradition hasn’t caught on with us mainlanders as it really is a party starter.

For those that don’t know what a wedding Cog is, here it isWedding Cog Queens Hotel Dundee Colin Bell Wedding DJ
