Comrie Croft Wedding DJ

This bank holiday weekend seen me traveling back up-to Comrie Croft.  I had been up at Comrie Croft in February and after a glowing recommendation on the Comrie Couples Facebook group Paulina & Tim got in contact.  Comrie is a brilliant venue if you’re looking for the rustic barn feel, it’s very similar to Kinkell Byre up at St Andrews.  This a DIY blank canvas venue which gives you loads of freedom to make it how you want.

The was a real international wedding, with Paulina originally from Poland and Tim from Australia there was guest from the 4 corners of the globe.  This was my first time entertaining a large Polish contingent at a wedding, some of the guest didn’t speak much English and unfortunately I’m Scottish so naturally my English ain’t great!

Paulina helped loads with her bilingual translations which was incredibly handy for the games we played, it is tradition at Polish weddings to play competitive family games.  We had loads going on from learning Ceilidh to musical chairs and a new one for me called coachman (http://www.games-wedding.com/wedding-games/fairytale-carriage-with-story.htm).

Ingliston Country Club Crowd Surfing to GBX

Every wedding loves a bit of GBX, but not all have crowd surfing.

I have quite a few bookings for ingliston over the next few months and if they go half as good as last Sunday wedding then I’ll have some very happy couples.

My favourite part of the evening which I caught on camera by chance, was of the groom crowd surfing. I was trying to catch a clip of my dj lighting to how the computer controlled lighting really works together with the music.  Too many mobile DJs just allow their lights to flash randomly and chaotic.

Corporate DJ at the Glasgow Marriott

Corporate DJ function

Back in January I got to entertain the Harper Collins staff for their annual staff party. This was my first corporate DJ event of the year.  There was 300 people in attendance which meant I needed a bigger sound system and lighting rig than my usual wedding stuff.

I enlisted the help of Paddy Gordon from MPG Entertainments who brought in one of the best sound systems I’ve seen and put on a fully controller professional grade light show.

I have created this short video to show off the sound and lighting production on the evening.

Book a DJ for your House

Over the years I’ve DJ’d in many house parties, usually just friends houses and I would bring the decks round and plug into the Hi-Fi.   Never have I been booked by a client to play in their home and rocked up with a 2kw sound system including bass bin and the full lighting rig.

What a party and what an experience, It was burns night and Mhairi was happy to use anything for an excuse to host a party.  You’ve seen the Kevin Bridge joke about Chad Hogan’s party and he booked a band?  Well Mhairi booked a DJ………. ME!!!

Crear Wedding Venue – Jac + Liam, December 2018

In December I had the pleasure of DJing in the wonderful Crear wedding venue to help Jac +Liam celebrate the marriage.  From our conversations I knew this was a couple who liked a laugh and knew this was going to a special wedding.  Jac and Liam wanted an intimate wedding and had invited 30 of their closet friends and family.  When I arrived I sensed the closeness of the group and could tell they were ready to let their hair down and party.
